Statement from CMHA – Quebec City Terror Attack

January 30, 2017

In the aftermath of the horrific attack on a peaceful community of prayer in Quebec City, the Canadian Mental Health Association stands in support of the families and friends of the victims, and all impacted by this tragedy and resulting trauma.

Community represents the core of the CMHA mission. Mental health flourishes and people thrive in meaningful and connected communities that respect and celebrate diversity. That is why when such a terrible tragedy is inflicted upon any of us, it impacts all of us.

CMHA branches in Quebec, and in more than 100 communities across Canada, are here to help. Please reach out if you are in need of mental health information or referral support. In the days, weeks, months, and years ahead, we are here to support those impacted by trauma or any other mental health issues – whoever they are, whatever their language, and however they pray.
