Evaluating Your
Project
Introduction
How will
you know whether your mental health promotion initiative is
successful? And how will you measure success? These are the
important questions that conducting an evaluation will help
you to answer.
Traditional
evaluation has often been seen as the domain of "experts",
a particular and specialized form of research. As such, it
has often emphasized on understanding and improving programs,
but has not always reflected the interests and needs of people
involved in those programs.
Evaluation
concepts and methods can, however, be used to promote the
empowerment and self-determination of participants. In this
section we will focus on the basic information your group
will need to conduct an effective and meaningful evaluation
of your initiative.
