Children's Markers Kim McKellar is a
writer, artist and composer who is Bi-Polar and has Dissociative Identity
Disorder: Watercolours Trish Miller was diagnosed
with Bi-polar disorder around the age of 15. Trish tells us in her story
that her.."poetry and art
work and a good sense of humour are all ways in which I express myself
and I am excited with a positive attitude towards my future." You
can also read Trish's story in our
Personal Stories section. Pastels Kyle Reynolds: "I
have been a consumer/survivor with schizophrenia for 9 years now and have
used my art as a way of dealing with my pain... I have kind of always
kept my condition in the closet for fear of people judging me. After seeing
your page I have been inspired to share my personal works I hope to inspire
others in doing so. The c.m.h.a is a wonderful place that has helped me
through so much I don't know what I would be like without you. You people
do God's work and I would like to thank you all for it. Keep up the wonderful
work. I would also like to thank my biggest inspiration Mary from the
St.Catharines c.m.h.a where I go she has helped me to see the true potential
in me when no one else did. Drawing Melissa Bender: "As a consumer/survivor
of depression, I have found creativity to be useful when I have been dealing
with depressive bouts. Even if it doesn't always make me feel less depressed,
at least I can look at my creations and see that something good came out
of an illness that doesn't have much good going for it. It's nice to take
something difficult and use it to create something beautiful, something
that you are proud of, and - best of all - something that can reach out
to someone else who is suffering and speak to them in a very powerful
way, the limits of which are only set by the limits of our imaginations." Melissa's poetry can be found in our poetry section. Photography Jim McMorran Sharon Uittenhout Beverly Riddel Signs of Winter | Skydiving 1 | Skydiving 2 | Sunrise in Muskoka Bernard Boucher fell
